About This Service
Effective ice management requires both pre-treatment and post-storm application. We apply liquid anti-icing agents before predicted events to prevent ice bonding to pavement — dramatically reducing the amount of material needed post-storm and the time required to restore safe conditions. After plowing, bulk rock salt and calcium chloride are applied to all surfaces based on current temperature and conditions.
Calcium chloride is used when temperatures drop below the effective range of rock salt (below approximately 15°F) and for treated surfaces where rock salt would cause damage. We track material usage carefully and have adequate inventory committed to our contracts before the first storm of the season.
