Featured Midland Park Project: Paver Patio, Retaining Wall & Landscape Plantings
A recent Midland Park project tackled both a structural challenge and a design opportunity at once. The rear yard sloped significantly toward the house, so we built a stepped fieldstone retaining wall system to reclaim usable flat space and redirect drainage away from the foundation. On the newly leveled upper tier, we installed a large-format paver patio with a built-in stone seating wall and a gas fire pit — giving the homeowners a true outdoor room where there was previously just a problem slope. Front yard plantings — arborvitae screening, ornamental grasses, knockout roses, and a Japanese maple anchor — completed the project and gave the whole property a polished, finished look from the street.
